What we believe & mission

At Reformed Studies, our hope is anchored in the truths of Reformed Christianity which is grounded in the word of God and the historical confessions.

God & the Bible

I

The Authority of Scripture

We accept the Bible as the Word of God, God’s authoritative, and sufficient rule of faith and practice.

II

The Sovereignty of God

We assert the omnipotent control by God over all things in the creation and in fulfilling His purposes and plans.

III

Salvation by grace through Faith

Salvation is not earned by any works or merits through the law but through the grace of God received by faith in Jesus Christ alone.

IV

Christ-centered living

Christ is our focus and the whole concept of Christianity revolves around Him and our devotion to Him.

V

The Transformative Power of the Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit dwells in us and convicts us to repentance and sanctification to God’s holiness.

VI

The Importance of the Church

To mention but a few, we acknowledge the centrality of the assembly of God as the body of Christ, where believers meet for corporate worship, studying, and fellowshipping.

Man

VII

Created in God’s Image

We affirm the creation account whereby man was originally made in God’s image (Gen 1: 26 – 27, James 3:9).

VIII

Fallen and Sinful

For this reason, all men are sinners by birth, alienated from God, and helpless apart from his grace, because of Adam’s sin (Romans 3:23).

IX

Total Depravity

Total depravity means that man’s nature is sinful and this is reflected in his cognitive, volitional, and affective faculties; his intellect is darkened, his will is unable to orient itself toward God or good and his emotions are evil (Ephesians 2:1-3).

X

Redeemed by Grace

By faith in Jesus Christ, man is given a chance to be freed out of sin and be back in fellowship with God again; and all this without having to pay for it on his part because it is by God’s favor (Ephesians 2: 8-9).

XI

Called to Live for God’s Glory

After regeneration their aim lies to adorn the Lord through cultivating the life of Christ into every domain of their existence based on 1 Corinthians 10:31.

XII

Destined for Eternity

Man is not immortal on earth, but is created to live eternally either in the life with God or in the life separated from Him; the life with God is given to all who believe in Christ (John 3:16); the life separated from God is prepared for those who do not believe in Him (Matthew 25:46).
